At Comrade David Ofoeyeno Special School for Children with Neurological Disorders, we are dedicated to creating a supportive and inclusive environment for children with special needs. Our Autism Awareness Day was a remarkable event aimed at celebrating neurodiversity, spreading awareness, and fostering a deeper understanding of autism within our community.
The day was filled with engaging activities designed to encourage learning, self-expression, and social interaction. Our students participated in sensory-friendly games, art therapy sessions, music performances, and interactive storytelling—all tailored to their unique abilities and interests. We also had a parents' forum where families shared experiences, received guidance from specialists, and connected with others on similar journeys.
Teachers and caregivers played an essential role in ensuring that every child felt valued and included. Through fun and meaningful activities, we reinforced the message that autism is not a disability, but a different ability.
The event was a heartwarming reminder of the beauty of neurodiversity and our collective responsibility to support and empower children with autism. We look forward to hosting more activities that nurture their growth and well-being.
đź’™ Together, we create a world where every child is seen, heard, and celebrated!
